Social innovation is generating new business models all around the world that can build tomorrow’s solutions for sustainable consumption and production. Transformative and inclusive, these solutions have the potential to generate multiple economic, social and environmental benefits through new forms of collaboration within markets, along supply chains and between public and private interests . The workshop will bring together international experts and participants from all sectors of society to explore the trends, mechanisms, opportunities and challenges that can be addressed by social innovation to enable the shift to SCP patterns . Key questions will be addressed, including: what makes innovation for SCP transformative and inclusive, and why should business care? How to connect creative entrepreneurs and their ideas with investors interested in promoting SCP, thus turning those innovative ideas into promising and scalable business plans? Where to find and how to use seed financing for social innovation for SCP, to bridge the gap between a good idea and putting a profitable, sustainable product on the market ?
