Dr. Franz Georg Simon

Dr. Franz-Georg Simon has been the Head of Contaminant Transfer and Environment Technologies at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin, Germany since 1998. Franz-Georg’s research areas include groundwater remediation with permeable reactive barriers, waste treatment with mechanical and thermal processes, and resources from waste.

Before his current position, Franz-Georg worked at the ABB Corporate Research in Baden, Switzerland as the Head of Division for Air Pollution Control. He received his doctorate degree from the Max-Plank Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany and holds a post-diploma in business engineering from AKAD Business in Zurich, Switzerland.
