Kristín Vala Ragnarsdóttir

Kristín Vala Ragnarsdóttir is an Earth Scientist and Professor of Sustainability Science at the University of Iceland.  In the past decade she has been working evaluating how long natural resources will last using the methods business as usual, peak discovery plus 40 years, Hubbert peak behaviour, and system dynamics modelling.  Other related work pertains to developing sustainability indicators for soils.  A comprehensive overview of these studies is given in Geochemical Perspectives: Natural Resources in a Planetary Perspective. She is the coordinator of the Adaptation to a New Economic Reality (AdaptEconII) Marie Curie PhD training program.  Vala is a member of the Club of Rome.
