Michelle Malanca_photoMichelle Malanca is a respected leader with global experience in the field of green building and sustainable urban development, from policy and strategy through to implementation and construction.

Through her own consultancy she has worked with private, non-profit, government and multilateral organizations on green building and sustainability programs. Her work has included the development of green building rating systems in several countries and the integration of sustainability initiatives and performance requirements into large development projects and real estate portfolios.

As Vice President of the World Green Building Council, Michelle led collaborative, global projects, including the Business Case for Green Building report. She was responsible for many of the organization’s initiatives including the Government Leadership Awards for best practice in green building policies and the Sustainable Cities Initiative, a partnership with C40 Cities.

She has made numerous presentations on green building and sustainable cities, including at conferences the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, and throughout Latin America.

Michelle is Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) San Francisco District Council and has been a LEED AP since 2003.
