Marlene Preiss studied Industrial Engineering at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences with a specialization in mechanical engineering. Afterwards she completed a Master’s degree in Resource Recovery – Sustainable Technology at the Swedish University of Borås. In her Master’s thesis she worked on zinc recovery from fly ashes originating form municipal solid waste incineration. The worked was carried out in cooperation with Renova AB, a waste disposal and recycling company in Gothenburg. Since 2014 she is a research associate at the Institute for Industrial Ecology (INEC) in Pforzheim, working on projects focusing on resource efficiency in companies.
