María Lucía Híjar has studied Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) from 2008 to 2012 and continued with the Master of Arts in Marketing, Services and Communication Management at the same university. Her main subject of interest focuses on consumer behaviour, responsible consumption, sustainable marketing and Hispanic studies.
Meanwhile, she has been president (2010-2011) and finance coordinator (2009-2010) of the Latin American Club at the University of St. Gallen, a student association dedicated to the Latin American culture and heritage.From a young age, María Lucía has volunteered in several projects concerning the social welfare of impoverished communities and vulnerable adults.
María Lucía joined the World Resources Forum in 2014 where her main responsibility has been the project management of WRF 2014, held in Arequipa, Peru, WRF 2015, held in Davos, Switzerland, WRF Latin America and the Caribbean 2016, held in San Jose, Costa Rica, and WRF 2017, held in Geneva, Switzerland. She has been in charge of the respective project teams, both in the preparation phases as onsite, and has also coordinated the drafting, edition and production of marketing materials and WRF reports.
