kurt-lanz-002Kurt Lanz studied economics, sociology and ecology at the University of Bern. He commenced his career at Swisscom (the leading Swiss telecommunications provider), where for almost a decade he was active in a variety of functions, including Head of Public Policy and International Affairs at the group level. He subsequently joined Sunrise Communications AG, where he campaigned in favour of competitionfriendly conditions in the telecommunications sector, then went on to build up the Public Affairs Division at Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), where he also established a group-wide professional stakeholder management system. He was also responsible for all political affairs at the SBB. Within the Executive Board of economiesuisse, Kurt Lanz is responsible for the Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Division, where he is actively advocating a reliable and competitive energy supply, efficient infrastructure for all transport, communications and supply services, and effective protection of the environment.

economiesuisse is the umbrella organisation of the Swiss economy. Its membership encompasses 100 trade and industry associations, 20 cantonal chambers of industry and commerce, and a variety of individual companies. It represents a total of 100,000 Swiss companies from all sectors, with around 2 million jobs in Switzerland.
