Juan Cristobal is an economist. He currently serves as the Director of the Social Progress Index for South America at Fundacion Avina. For the last 18 years, he has worked in the design and implementation of sustainable development projects and programs based on innovation. His work focuses mainly on the areas of productivity, energy and environment, behavioral economics, welfare economics and multidimensional measures of social progress. He was part of the Scientific Committee of the World Resources Forum in 2014 and part of the Advisory Committee for What Works in 2016. He participated in the creation of the Latin American Cleaner Production Network and the Global Resource Efficient Network of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
