Benjamin BONGARDT, Head of Resource Policy, NABU e.V.

Benjamin works for NABU since 2007. NABU is Birdlife Partner in Germany and the country’s largest environmental NGO, counting 620.000 members and supporters. Benjamin is dealing with a wide range of policy issues of resource protection, waste management and sustainable consumption on the federal German and EU-level. He is consulting private corporations on sustainability issues and acts as a resource expert for media contacts. He is mainly interested in feasible political measures for resource protection. Before Benjamin worked for VCD (Transport Club Germany) and the University of Duisburg-Essen where he did his PhD in urban climatology. He visited the universities of Trier, London and Vienna and holds a diploma in geography, climatology and social ecology.
