2020 December – Present: Managing Director at World Resources Forum
Mathias is leading the WRF’s program activities related to mining and secondary raw materials. He currently coordinates recycling and e-waste management projects in cooperation with the Swiss State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

2006 – 2013: Program Manager and Senior Scientist at Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research)
He has provided his expertise in sustainability issues for several cooperation projects with developing countries in Africa (Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda), Asia (Cambodia, India) and Latin America (Argentina, Colombia, Peru) for national and international government organizations and the private industry.
