St. Gallen, 11 February 2013. The World Resources Forum organises a one-day congress within the framework of the Energy Fair (Energiemesse) 2013 in St. Gallen, on 23 May 2013. The general topic “Globale Anregungen für lokale Energieeffizienz” (Global Inspiration for Local Energy Efficiency), will be discussed in the plenary throughout the morning and during three different workshop sessions in the afternoon.
We are happy to announce that a number of well-known experts will join us, including Harry Lehmann, German Federal Environment Agency, Martin Faulstich, President of the German Council of Environmental Advisors, Fredy Brunner, City Councillor, St. Gallen, Helga Weisz, Chair, Research Domain IV Transdisciplinary Concepts and Methods, Potsdam Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK), Hubert Rhomberg, CEO Rhomberg AG, Willi Sieber, Austrian Ökologie Institut, and Carol Muggli, Projectleader myclimate.
Topics of the parallel workshops in the afternoon are “Eco-efficient Infrastructure in Cities”, “Sustainable Tourism and Conferences”, and “The Future of Mobility”. Each of these workshops will have 3 – 4 keynote speeches which will initiate a vivid discussion. At the end of the afternoon, all participants will be invited to gather in the plenary hall to listen to the workshop summaries and actively take part in the panel discussion with different protagonists of the day. The congress will be held in German.
The Energy Fair 2013 will be accompanied by an exhibition, where organisations and companies are welcome to present their latest products, strategies and projects in energy and resource efficiency.
