Atsushi Inaba – Professor, Faculty of Engineering, Kogakuin University
Atsushi Inaba joined AIST in 1981. He has been in charge of the evaluation study of CO2 mitigation technologies since 1986 and Life Cycle Assessment since 1993. He had led the activities related to LCA in Japan as the director of Research Center of LCA, AIST since 2001 to the end of March 2008, which is followed in the Research Institute of Science for Safety and Sustainability, AIST. He was also a professor of the University of Tokyo since 2005 to 2008, and then he moved to Faculty Engineering, Kogakuin University in 2009.
He was one of co-chairs of ISO/TC207/SC5-WG6 (Re-edition of ISO-14040 series) in 2005-2007, and had been a vice director of the International Life Cycle Panel of UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative in the first phase since 2002. He was a chairperson of the pilot project of Carbon Footprint of Products in Japan, which is now followed as the CFP communication program by Japan Environmental Management Association (JMAI). He has attended the activity of the 5th assessment report of IPCC-WG3 as a lead author of Chapter 12 (Human Settlement) since 2012.
